About the University

Eskişehir Osmangazi University was established on 18th August 1993 with the Legislative Decree № 496 and in this context, split off from Anadolu University, the Faculties of Engineering and Architecture, Medicine, and Science and Literature were all connected with newly founded Osmangazi University. Besides, Eskişehir Associate School of Health, Vocational School of Health Services, Graduate Schools of Life Sciences, Health, Education, and Social Sciences along with the recently opened Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences were reconstituted within Osmangazi University. Through the Law № 5379, the name of the university was updated as Eskişehir Osmangazi University on 1st July 2005.

Although legally established in 1993, the year of 1970, which is the foundation year of Eskişehir State Academy of Engineering and Architecture, was accepted as the official year of establishment of Eskişehir Osmangazi University with the decision of the senate. Consistently developing and expanding since its foundation, the University has welcome many academic units through the years. The years of 1994, 1995 and 1998 have respectively witnessed the foundation of Sivrihisar Vocational School, the Faculties of Agriculture and Theology, and lastly the Faculty of Educational Sciences. Mahmudiye Vocational School of Horse Breeding started its education in 2007-2008 academic year while the Faculties of Dentistry and Arts and Design were founded in 2008 and 2009. Eskişehir Vocational School began its education and training services in 2010 at the Organised Industrial Zone of Eskişehir thanks to the successful collaboration between Eskişehir Osmangazi University and Eskişehir Chamber of Industry. The Faculty of Tourism in 2013 and the Faculty of Health Sciences at the beginning of 2016-2017 academic year started to accept students. The academic set-up gained more strength thanks to the establishment of the Law Faculty in 2018. The Faculty of Science and Literature was closed down in 2022 to make way for two new faculties, the Faculty of Science and the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences. The last academic unit to join the University has been Çifteler Vocational School founded in 2023. Continuously growing and evolving from past to present, Eskişehir Osmangazi University goes on to serve the society through its qualified academic structure and strong teaching staff.

The campus spreads up to about 2.9 million m2 and of this total area, 80.000 m2 is allocated for classrooms, laboratories and offices while 50.000 m2 is used for recreational facilities and 62.000 m2 is reserved for health services. The university continues its services of education-training, research-development, and health at the campuses of Meşelik, Bademlik, Ali Numan Kıraç, Sivrihisar, Sarıcakaya, Mahmudiye, Çifteler and Organized Industrial Zone. Being a deep-rooted and prominent higher education institution with its 55 years of experience, Eskişehir Osmangazi University keeps on producing knowledge through its 13 faculties, 1 associate school, 5 vocational schools, 4 graduate schools and 40 centres of research and application and proceeds resolutely on the way to contemporary science and constant academic progression.
